There's a good reason they're called al Qaeda in Iraq...

The President finally lays it out for the nation that al Qaeda in Iraq is actually al Qaeda...in...Iraq.

"They know they're al Qaida. The Iraqi people know they are al Qaida. People across the Muslim world know they are al Qaida. And there's a good reason they are called al Qaida in Iraq: They are al Qaida ... in ... Iraq."

A stunning display of circular logic to be sure. Bush used to just sound a little slow to me, now, though, he sounds like he has lost his mind.

Every now and then, I imagine that I know what it must have been like to be thoughtful, intelligent, reasonably affluent German gentile, circa 1933. I feel as if I am witnessing insanity to the highest degree, and it scares the crap out of me because I don't know exactly where this is all going, but it does not look good, so I cling to the fact that, at least, I will be OK.

Probably.

But now would be a good time to clear up that credit card debt, stop flapping my mouth in public, and be hyper-vigilant about what they are teaching my kid in school.
